We are so excited to build on our Greed Flag status as an Eco school, by supporting the United Nations work towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
The United Nations has developed 17 sustainable development goals for all countries to work towards for a better future. The Education People (part of KCC) in collaboration with an international leader, has developed a programme to introduce education for sustainable development to the Early Years and Childcare sector. We believe in the importance of children developing empathy and how this leads to fairness, respect and responsibility, for each other and for our world.
We are enjoying attending inspiring training on how to deliver these goals to children at an appropriate level, which will build on the good practice which we have already developed. We have decided to focus on one goal each term, along side the theme, to help develop and build understanding about sustainability.
